About the lecture

The aviation industry is undergoing a fundamental transformation through digitalization of air traffic management (ATM) systems. Modern air traffic control increasingly relies on integrated digital platforms, automated decision-support systems, satellite-based navigation, and real-time data exchange networks that span international borders. While these technologies enhance safety, efficiency, and capacity, they create complex legal challenges regarding data sovereignty, privacy protection, cybersecurity obligations, and liability frameworks. The lecture explores the intersection of aviation law and digital regulation, analyzing how international conventions such as the Chicago Convention adapt to technological advancement, examining ICAO standards for digital ATM systems, and addressing critical questions of cross-border data flows in multinational airspace.
